Amanda Kanno is a Japanese American writer with a BA (in-progress) in English/Creative Writing. Her coursework includes editing, critical and rhetorical theories, research/academic writing, literary analysis, and creative writing in the fields of fiction, creative nonfiction, playwriting, and poetry. She has worked as a proofreader, editor, freelance writer, and sensitivity reader. Professional accomplishments include Storymakers Conference faculty (2024), Storymakers First Chapter Contest judge (2023-2024), Whitney Awards Judging Academy (2022-2024), student editor for the Utah Valley University Journal of Student Leadership (2024), and presenter at the Utah Conference for Undergraduate Research (2024). She currently lives in rural Utah with her husband, children, a goat, a bunny, and the world’s okay-est dog.
